Links of the Day:
- The Rochester Public Market will get some international attention.
The Travel Channel International is visiting on Saturday to get footage for a documentary called “American Times.” The show will premier in November 2012 and could be seen in 118 countries.
The attention is further proof the market is a true gem. It’s been in the same spot since 1905 and is self-supporting.
The market is also in line for some big improvements. A pedestrian bridge over Union St. is in the works. A winter shed with bathrooms and space for additional vendors is also planned.
Check out some historical photos of the market.
- Rochester City Council President Lovely Warren wants affordable housing at College Town. The Mt. Hope neighborhood group balked at the idea of Section 8 housing.
- Hazing at colleges can be deadly. The New York Times takes a deep look at the death of a Cornell University student.

People from all over the county go to the CITY for their public market. And no politician makes the market stay there or prods people to go to it.
